President’s message
Our highest ambition as an Alliance
is to promote health education. Through the years we have been a steady
force within our community. Our charitable endeavors, our help to
promote health education, and our ability to cultivate friendly
relations and mutual understanding among our physicians’ families and
the community allows us to obtain and maintain this objective. The
financial support through your membership allows us to continue with
these goals.
Change is all around us, and the
medical field is no exception. Our Medical Society of Sedgwick County
Alliance (MSSCA), along with our Kansas Medical Society Alliance (KMSA)
and the American Medical Association Alliance (AMAA) are working hard at
keeping us up-to-date with shared interests in the future of medicine
and health care.
Due to our very generous and
passionate members, we have been able to continue with many of our
health promotion projects within our community. We are extremely proud
of our county and state members who created and pushed our new State of
Kansas Breast Cancer license plates through legislation. Other focuses
include: Faux Paux (internet safety), HealthyKidzKan! (childhood
obesity), No Bullies–No Victims, Meals on Wheels, domestic violence,
community education, environmental concerns, legislation advocacy and
much, much more. We welcome and encourage you to become involved with
any or all of these programs.
Our Alliance is in its 81st
year and is still going strong. Only through the dedication and
generosity of our members has this been made possible. With your help,
be it by your membership, your time or just your smile, we will endure.
If you would like to know more about
our Alliance, or if you may have any questions, please contact me.
